Community Organizing

Early in 2020, I co-launched an effort to organize constituents in Senate District 46 that shared the values of respecting the dignity of all people and creating an eonomy where all people can thrive. Our team of 30+ people have turned out hundreds of engaged citizens to meet and challenge our state, city and county officials.

I have over ten years of experience driving civic engagement to address racial inequity and to build a caring economy. As an ISAIAH Leader, I worked to co-govern with political leaders around common values. I led the education equity team's work with four metro school districts to eliminate exclusionary discipline. I worked side by side with Education MN (the teacher's union) and SEIU Healthcare MN to advance education & health equity. I currently co-lead the Leader Development Team for the St. Joan of Arc ISAIAH team.

Zoom became the lifeblood of my organizing once the pandemic struck. The importance of a multiracial democracy and a caring economy became amplified as we felt the devastation of the pandemic.
